 ACCEPTANCE

"Acceptance in human psychology is a person’s assent to the reality of a situation, recognizing a process or condition without attempting to change it or protest it."

Most of our problems begin with the act of un-acceptance. The moment we decide to not accept something, feelings which we favor the least tend to reappear within us such as; anger, fear, hatred, jealousy, etc. When we accept ourselves for who we really are things start to change for good, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be proud about yourself. But the moment you accept yourself for who you literally are and not keep changing according to what the world demands of you, it becomes easier to live with yourself. Where acceptance begins the difference between right and wrong starts to decorate. The line between black and white turns grey. If you don’t accept an undesired event it turns to anger but if you do it turns into tolerance. Same goes with uncertainty, not accepting it makes us afraid and accepting it turns it into an adventure.

The key to a peaceful life is acceptance. Acceptance may or may not be something which will bring you happiness but it will for sure bring you peace. Something which is going to make this living hell: life, worth living. Something which will make every coming hurdle easy to jump over. Living with yourself, with good deeds in store is as simple as breathing, people with bad deeds are the suffering ones but even in their case, acceptance is the key to a guilt-free life. When you look back, to the times you have intentionally or unintentionally hurt people or degraded yourself from your morals and ethics for selfish reasons, you look down upon yourself but then the moment you accept the deeds you have done, suddenly you don’t seem to hate yourself anymore, suddenly you seem to understand yourself better.

We have been always taught to accept our mistakes and bear the consequences for it. Acceptance actually feels like relief, you no longer have to keep up to the standards society has set for you, you no longer have to keep proving yourself to others. You can finally proudly wear around your scars and not be ashamed of them. You no longer have to make excuses for all the things you have done. you can finally simply and uniquely be you. Just by accepting yourself for who you are either bad or good.
